Publishing a book yourself is no longer difficult in the technical sense. It is difficult in the administrative sense, and that is where most people give up.
The writing is finished, and then there is a cover to commission, a file to convert, metadata to choose, categories and keywords that decide whether anyone ever sees it, an ISBN to obtain or not, print costs that determine the price before you have any say in it, tax forms from another country, and a dozen decisions each of which looks small and any of which can cost the book its chances.
Self Publishing Tool is being built to take that in order. Plain explanations of each step, in the sequence they actually occur, with the real costs named and the common mistakes marked. Where a job is worth paying someone to do, it will say so. Where it is not, it will say that too.
No promises about sales will be made here. Most self published books sell few copies, and any site that tells you otherwise is selling something. What can be promised is that the process will be understandable.
